K. Dr. Adam Drewnowski

Dr. Adam Drewnowski is the Director of the Center for Public Health Nutrition and Professor of Epidemiology and Medicine at the University of Washington.  He received his degrees from Balliol College, Oxford, and the Rockefeller University in New York.   His research addresses the impact of taste, cost, and convenience on food preferences and eating habits and the current disparities in health status by income and class.  Dr. Drewnowski has received an award under the NIH Roadmap Initiative to develop an Exploratory Obesity Research Center at the University of Washington.  The Center will focus on environmental, economic and policy issues and with obesity prevention at the local and state level  Dr. Drewnowski has also developed a method to assess the nutrition profile of individual foods that has implications for regulatory agencies, health educators, and the consumer.  He is the author of over 100 research papers and numerous reviews and book chapters and a frequent presence at national and international meetings.

Dr. John P. Foreyt

John P. Foreyt is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He also is the Director of the DeBakey Heart Center's Behavioral Medicine Research Center, Department of Medicine.  He is a member of the Medical Scientist Staff, Internal Medicine Service, The Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas.

John P. Foreyt received his B.S. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin and his M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1969 from Florida State University. He served on the faculty at Florida State University until 1974 when he moved to Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr. Foreyt is a Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine, a Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine, a Fellow of the Behavioral Therapy and Research Society, and a Fellow of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research and other professional organizations.

He is licensed to practice clinical psychology in Texas and maintains a private clinical psychology in Texas and maintains a private practice.

Dr. Foreyt has published extensively in the areas of diet modification, cardiovascular risk reduction, eating disorders, and obesity.  He has published 17 books and more than 260 articles in these areas.
